李白：靜夜思
床頭明月光，疑是地上霜。
舉頭望明月，低頭思故鄉。
Li Pai: Homesickness
Moonlight was creeping up to my bedside,
illuminating the floor to frost-like.
Raised my head to gaze at the moon,
home sickness choked up in my mind.
李白：下江陵
朝辭白帝彩雲間，千里江陵一日還。
兩岸猿聲啼不住，輕舟已過萬重山。
Li Pai：Returning to Jian-Lin
Departing the town Pai Di bathed in clouds at dawn,
returning to Jian-Lin hundreds of miles away in a day。
Monkeys were shrieking incessantly along with the banks,
splashing downstream on a sampan as mountains
in the thousands fleeting away.
杜甫：月夜憶舍弟
戌鼓斷人行，邊秋一雁聲。
露從今夜白，月是故鄉明。
有弟皆分散，無家問死生。
寄書常不達，況乃未休兵。
Du Fu: Missing Younger Brother
Drum beats pervading the frontier
garrison no-man’s land,
now in fall lingering the honking
sounds of a lone swan。
Dew is going to turn frost to tonight,
as bright as hometown is the moonlight。
All younger brothers have scattered,
no home address for inquiring their plight.
Letter sent are long undelivered,
as war is still at its height。
