春節期間在小區散步，偶見路旁庭園水仙花綻放，一時想起年輕時曾讀過的一首英詩，是十七世紀英國詩人 Robert Herrick 所作《致水仙花》。該詩四小段中前兩段我仍能背誦，遂即笑為之譜曲一首，並譯成中文以抒情懷，嘆人生苦短也。

We have short time to stay, as you,
We have as short a spring;
As quick a growth to meet decay,
As you, or anything.
We die.
As your hours do, and dry
Away,
Like to the summer’s rain;
Or as the pearls of morning’s dew,

我們的春天也一樣短促；
